Free Website Idaho is one developer building real websites for Idaho small businesses out of Kuna. No agency, no account managers, no meetings that could've been an email.
I've spent years building websites for businesses across the Treasure Valley, first through my agency, Bethesda Media. After a while, you get tired of watching good local businesses get overcharged for slow, mediocre websites built on bloated platforms. Or worse, quoted $3,000 and told to wait three months for something a competent developer could ship in two weeks.
So I started Free Website Idaho as a simpler trade for small, straightforward marketing sites. I build it, for free, using the same process and code quality I'd normally charge thousands for. You pay $29 a month for hosting. That's the entire business model. No upsells hiding behind it, no "starting at" pricing that mysteriously triples by the invoice.
The Tech Stack
It's not magic, it's just modern engineering. I build these sites using Astro, style them with Tailwind CSS, and deploy them on the Cloudflare global edge network. It's the fastest setup for a marketing site, period. No servers to maintain, no plugins to update, no 2am emergency call because a plugin update broke the checkout page.

Free Website Idaho is strictly for simple marketing sites. If you need e-commerce, a custom web app, or ongoing retainer work, that's what I run Bethesda Media for. Different business, same person. Not what this is, but the option's there.
